About the Grant
The Lunaphore Grant Program – Service Lab was designed to provide your lab with the unique opportunity to win free proof-of-concept service projects from the Lunaphore Proof of Concept Service Lab.
The Lunaphore Proof of Concept Service Lab allows researchers to cooperate with Lunaphore scientists through customized proof-of-concept sample processing service projects based on the LabSat® Research or COMET™ platforms, and use the data generated to facilitate the decision-making process for technology adoption. 1st PRIZE WINNER
12-plex project run with COMET™ (Sequential multiplexed immunofluorescence)
Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ekin Demir – Klinikum Rechts Der Isar – Technical University of Munich
“Immunotophography after neoadjuvant therapy in pancreatic cancer microenvironment”
Neoadjuvant therapy (neoTx) has dramatically improved the prognosis of patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. In a previous study, we demonstrated that neoTx is able to reverse the immunosuppression exerted by malignant cells and selectively deplete myeloid-derived suppressor cells in the peritumoral niche. However, the cell-to-cell interactions between the different subsets of tumor-infiltrating immune cells and their spatial correlation with other basic features of the tumor microenvironment, such as pancreatic neuropathy and stromal activation, remain unknown. The novel Lunaphore high-plex technology will allow us to penetrate deep into the geography of pancreatic cancer and discover potential therapeutic targets for neoadjuvant approaches.

6-plex project run with LabSat® Research (TSA-based multiplexed immunofluorescence)

“Cross Validation of a Manual mQIF panel with Lunaphore LabSat and optimization for clinical assay provision.”
The Specialized Translation Services Laboratory (STS Lab) is CLIA certified lab within Yale Pathology Labs providing CLIA standard mQIF services within and outside of Yale University. The emergence of immunotherapies throughout the last decade has demonstrated the unmet need of an assay capable of measuring multiple immune cell markers (IC) in tandem. Our goal is to design a mQIF assay to be made available to treating physicians allowing additional information generated to make an informed clinical decision. IC of PD-L1, CD8, CD20, CD4, and CD68 will be assessed using Lunaphore LabSat using 9 whole tissue samples and 1 TMA (485 NSCLC cases). Results will be correlated with patient demographics, treatments, and survival statistics to assess the prognostic/predictive power.
