Service Lab

Accelerate your research with the simultaneous detection of biomarkers on tissue samples. Lunaphore’s novel microfluidic technology – FFeX – enables rapid automated tissue analysis, providing multiplex immunofluorescence data to medical discovery.

The Lunaphore Proof of Concept Service Lab allows researchers to cooperate with Lunaphore scientists through customized proof-of-concept sample processing service projects based on the LabSat® Research or COMET™ platforms, and use the data generated to facilitate the decision-making process for technology adoption. Timelines

Applications submission deadline: April 30th, 2021
Award winners notification: May 14th, 2021

Grant Proposals Projects

  • 6-plex panel (on LabSat® Research) or 12-plex panel (on COMET™)
  • The panel must include at least 4 markers (LabSat® Research) / 10 markers (COMET™) from Lunaphore pre-defined markers lists (see below). 2 additional markers of choice can be selected.
  • Tissue type: FFPE human sample. 1 organ only.
  • Deliverable: 10 samples analyzed.

Pre-defined markers list:
LabSat® Research: FoxP3, PD-L1, PD-1, CD68, CD8, CK
COMET™: CD68, FoxP3, CD8, PD1, Ki67, PDL1, CK, CD4, CD20, CD3

Prizes

1st Prize: 12-plex project run with COMET™ (Sequential multiplexed immunofluorescence)
2nd Prize: 6-plex project run with LabSat® Research (TSA-based multiplexed immunofluorescence)
All other participants: 20% voucher for the Lunaphore Service Lab, valid only in 2021, for the applications meeting all criteria.

Grant Submission Content

A successful application must include:

  • The platform of interest (LabSat® Research or COMET™) on which the service will be run;
  • A detailed description of the research project, including sample tissue type and proposed biomarkers list;
  • Research study background information on staining and imaging applications, and biomarkers panel;
  • Information on how the project, run on LabSat® Research/COMET™ platform, will enable your laboratory to enhance current research or enable research not currently undertaken;
  • Intended use of the data generated.

IMPORTANT:

  • The total submission should be no more than 1000 words. PDFs or additional files can be attached to the grant submission form.
  • All the submissions must be received by 23:59 CEST of April 30th, 2021.
  • For the selected additional markers, preliminary experience is required (manual or automated).
  • Service definition will start within two weeks after the winner announcement.
  • The service will be delivered within three months from sample reception.

Selection criteria for the grant:

All submissions received on or before the deadline will be reviewed by Lunaphore and the winner will be selected on the following criteria:

  • Impact of the study being developed;
  • Well defined proposal with precise research goals;
  • Availability of samples for service execution;
  • Preliminary experience with multiplex immunofluorescence;
  • Intention to adopt Lunaphore instruments in laboratory research activities following service completion.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be age 18 or older;
  • Applicants must be employed at a Research Institution (private or academia), Healthcare Organization (HCO), a Pharma / Biotech company, or a Contract Research Organization (CRO) located in Europe or the US, in a capacity in which they perform life sciences research.
